We are looking for a meticulous Finance Assistant to support our East and Southern Africa office in Arusha, Tanzania.

Join the Danish Trade Union Development Agency (DTDA), the development organisation of the Danish trade union movement. We are looking for a meticulous Finance Assistant to support our East and Southern Africa office in Arusha, Tanzania.
DTDA align its work with the Global Decent Work Agenda to create decent jobs, uphold workplace rights, expand social protection, and foster social dialogue.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review travel advances and claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing of journals.
- Process payment requests swiftly and accurately.
- Assist in analysing financial reports and project performance and maintaining strong financial control in compliance with donor requirements.
- Input data into DTDA’s Business Central accounting system.
- Support year-end and audit preparations.
- Collaborate with the program team to organize and execute successful events.
- Prepare payroll and statutory deductions as per legal requirements.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and files, ensuring accurate documentation in Teams.
- Ensure all assets are insured and procurement procedures adhere to the Internal Control System.
- Develop and manage an inventory list for the DTDA Sub-regional Office.
- Perform other financial tasks as directed by the Finance and Administrative Officer.
- Assist in monitoring and controlling financial transactions of partner organisations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
- Experience with accounting software preferred; familiarity with Business Central is highly advantageous.
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and project administration skills.
- Accounting certifications like CPA-T, ACCA, or CIMA are a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with the capability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team player able to thrive in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organised with excellent prioritisation skills, capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Willing to travel within and outside Tanzania as needed.
